About Us
Pride@KFBS has long served the LGBTQ+ community at Kenan Flagler Business School and at UNC. Learn more about our organization and the incredible people behind it.
Pride@KFBS was born out of just that: pride — pride to be the next generation of business leaders, pride to be Tar Heels, and pride to own our LGBTQ+ identities. Founded by Garrett Hall in 2005 and later revived by Graeme Strickland and Brendan Kerestes in 2018, Pride@KFBS has been a space in which queer business students can find a community and develop professionally. The lack of visibility and representation that usually occur for queer people in professional spaces inspired the club, which ensures that anyone in our community can too be out and proud in their career interests.
Over the years, we have both hosted and participated in a number of events, including networking panels, alumni socials, and case competitions. From its founding, Pride@KFBS has been met with support from the Kenan-Flagler community. The sustained continuity of the club’s mission has helped change business culture and conversation and send a message of inclusion in Kenan-Flagler Business School.
